First Two Days in Kitale Aren't Going So Great 8/19/2019

Lukazz is having such a hard time. He has spent two days in Kitale to get some things he needs for his ID, and one thing after another is becoming an obstacle for him. He has already had some allergies to some pollens in the area, and his throat is swelling up. I am sure his sinuses aren't doing well either. Bless his heart. If I weren't so far away, I would send him some Benedryl, but I am helpless. Not a damn thing I can do. He is brave and says, "Don't worrry mum." So, I worry.

Things have also cost him more than he estimated, and he has run out of money. He still has to make it home, though. And he is really hungry. Apparently, his aunt and uncle either can't share their food with him, or won't share with him. I don't know. He even bought them sugar as a gift when he arrived. Me...trying to be helpful...I sent him a few dollars that I had, and guess what I forgot? He doesn't have his damn money card with him. Damn it! I am kicking myself right now. And....I don't have anymore money. So, I don't know what to do to help him now. He has plenty of money now......in Nairobi. It is doing him no good in Kitale. I told him if he could find good enough network, he can go online and transfer the money to where he is. But...there is no network where he is. He had to walk a few miles to have reception just to talk to me. Oh man.....>sigh<. If nothing else, I can get him some money on Wednesday when he says he wants to leave. He is just broke until then. He is such a good boy. He never complains. He stays strong and brave and keeps going. I am so proud of him. Stay tuned for his next update. Hopefully it will be better news.
