Today is the first day in Nairobi for Lukazz....and I haven't heard from him since last night when he said he had found a motel around the corner from the bus stop. He wasn't supposed to be in a motel. Something went wrong, and his roommate was not able to help him get to the new apartment. He was supposed to wait outside the bus stop all night long, I guess. I wasn't having it. I got on Google Earth birds eye view and at ground level to look around. I found a motel around the corner from him...literally feet away, and told him to head that way. I didn't want him on the streets in a strange city in the cold. I know he had to me scared. I would be. Last I heard from him, he said he had gotten a room, and he just wanted to sleep. It was almost 2am his time. I bet he was exhausted. Bless his heart. So, I wished him a good night's sleep and told him good night. Now, I haven't heard from him. I am not freaking out yet, but I am a bit concerned. I can think of a hundred things that could have gone wrong, because Lukazz has never gone a day without talking to me to at least to tell me he can't. At the same time, it is his first day in Nairobi. There could be a lot going on. It is a HUGE city. His roommate was supposed to find him and they were to reconnect. I don't know if that ever happened. He could be out of data now. He could be out of money. He could be busy getting settled in. Like I said....I can think of a hundred things and then some. I guess it is the mother in me. He is my boy. I will update when I hear from him again. In the meantime....I have pics of the area where he arrived in Nairobi that I screenshotted when I was trying to see where he was. I showed him the pics of his area and he felt more at ease knowing I knew where he was. In our minds...I sat with him while he waited.
Update: Lukazz made it to his new home. I am glad he got a hold of me. He says it is dustier there than in Kisii. He is excited and happy at the moment. I like to see it. I will continue to update tomorrow. He has gone to bed for the night in Nairobi.
